I take things really quite literally and my daughter thinks it’s funny.
The main ways it shows is when people ask me the time, I will ordinarily say the exact time (I’m writing this and 9.04pm, not 5 past 9!!
Also when I sign in at reception for a meeting I put the exact time I arrived e.g. 10.14am when almost all other entries are rounded up to the nearest 5minutes.
I guess we naturally round up in life like with prices that end with 99p like £7.99 we’ll call 8 quid!
Harmless stuff really but with rejection sensitivity dysphoria it can be hard with my ADHD. Someone asked me for the time in a jacuzzi at a gym once and I said the exact time, he laughed saying “that was very precise” and I felt embarrassed and shamed like he thought I was an idiot.
I’ll probably keep taking things literally though!
